I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in public relations and a background in Russian and counseling. Though my career today doesn't involve any of those areas, they've all had a part in teaching me the value of relationship. From product design to content strategy and everything in between, I've seen firsthand the importance of working with users.
And it isn't just a matter of working with them. In the rush of the world today, we don't often realize the amount of insight that comes from giving people room to speak. Throughout my time as a journalist and a counselor, I learned just how imperative it is to ask questions that truly matter — to me, to my product and to the people who may someday use it.
Today, I work in content strategy and user experience. To say users are important is a bit of an understatement. Everything I do begins with discovering the wants, needs and considerations of the people who will one day use whatever it is I'm creating — whether it's content for a site redesign or the launch of an entire organization.
Beyond work, I'm a lifelong metalhead and a huge fan of video games. I don't know how either of those came to be, but you won't catch me complaining. When I'm not at home, you can usually find me trying out Atlanta's endless list of restaurants or exploring the mountains up north.
